They are a staple of any woman’s wardrobe and yet every year someone tries to convince us that jeans are ‘out’ but whatever happens we all want a great pair of jeans.
And this season in keeping with the rest of the catwalks jeans are going sophisticated. According to Grazia “this season’s grown-up catwalk trends mean that jeans have got that little bit more sophisticated.”
So what styles should the fashion forward woman go for? Well Grazia says that: “For now, it’s goodbye boyfriends and hello sleek styles, like the 50s ankle grazer – worn rolled up and super tight à la Rizzo from Grease – or evening-wear friendly leather-look jeans.”
One trend that has been huge with the celebs is the Cargo. It’s all thanks to the J Brand Houlihan, which saw any celeb worth their salt donning cargo jeans, and now there are a range of imitations out there.
If a cargo is not your thing then there is always the Rizzo look which was inspired by Isabel Marant’s 50s bad girl look. The key to the Rizzo look is that they are deep indigo and skin tight – and for a true 50s look roll them up at the ankle.
And according to Marie Claire the super skinny jean is a huge trend this year. They write “say hello to super-stretch the hot new fabric for a second skin fit.”
Miss Sixty has a great range of super skinny fit jeans at Very.co.ukwhich come in the key rock and roll indigo colours. For a true Rizzo ezque look go for the Miss Sixty Rocker which sit just above the ankle and are perfect for that 50s rebel look.
For anyone wanting to go even more rebellious they can go for jet-back leather-look jeans which Grazia say are “storming the denim scene”.
And for a new take on an old classic Marie Claire recommends the baby boot cut. They write that “the boot-cut is back this time in a more leg lengthening version.”
Miss Sixty have the Connie bootcut for anyone wanting to get the look. They can be dressed up or down and come in tall and regular so will nail the bootcut style.
