Kanye West Launched “Runaway” Short Film

Kanye West is back in his full-gear work mode. Last weekend he tweeted his newest artwork for his upcoming fifth album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”. Along with the picture, Kanye tweeted:

“Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!”

The rant caused some stir in Twitter, but Walmart denied the ban, and they released a statement:

“We’re excited about Kanye West’s new album and we look forward to carrying it in our stores on November 22nd. As always, it’s our standard practice to carry the edited parental advisory version. We did not reject the cover artwork and it was never presented to us to view.”

Um… well, on the other hand, Kanye is quite the buzz-maker.  Kanye West’s fifth album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” will drop November 22, 2010, but now it is available on Amazon.com for pre-order.

In other Kanye news, the rapper unveiled a short movie for his critically acclaimed new single “Runaway” featuring Pusha T of The Clipse. The short film is directed by Kanye West and starring model Selita Ebanks. The television and online premiere of the short film will be on BET and live stream on BET.com, October 23 at 8:00pm EST/PST.

In the launch event at L.A.’s Harmony Gold Theater, Yeezy told the press and his fans that he had contemplated suicide during the years after the deaths of his mother and a close friend.  Kanye stated:

“There were times that I contemplated suicide. I will not give up on life again. There’s so many people that will never get the chance to have their voice heard. I do it for them.”

Maybe that explains the weird behavior and the bald arm candy girlfriend he had a while back.

If you’re more into MTV, MTV2 or MTV.com and VH1.com, Kanye will be available for a Q&A session at the MTV Headquarters right after the premiere. The VH1 premiere of the film will take place on October 26 at 12am EST/PST.
