The warmer weather is upon us and its the perfect time to sport cut offs a summer staple! Here is a little DIY on getting the look.
You will need: A pair of thrifted or vintage jeans ($3), about 30 studs ($3) + scissors. Then you just need to follow a stencil, or go with your creative instinct.
I opted for a pair of high-waisted shorts, cut really short: hot pants!

Then, with your hands, tear along the hemline to give your shorts some texture: this step is a must for the full effect of getting the look!

Then, depending on your tastes and inspiration, you can give your shorts an added layer of texture by way of a few studs. This, however, is not a DIY task that should be taken on if you only have a few minutes to spare on the go. It requires some time and patienceespecially for your fingers which bear the brunt of the manual labour in this case.

Note the shredded hemline on the front and back of my shorts. If I wanted to, I could have stretched out the DIY possibilities here to endless proportions. There really are so many possibilities when customizing jean shorts to your personal tastes and wardrobe wishes.
