Next week, at the Festival Mode & Design, the legendary designer will offer you the chance to take part in his Bourgeoises Sans Âge show, which will feature 30 mens and womens looks from his fall/winter prêt-à-porter collection.
For all interested, the casting will take place this Saturday, and the show on August 3rd. If

No Comments »If you go down to the woods today you’re in for a big surprise… particularly if you happen to stumble across Eridge Park, Tunbridge Wells for the second coming of the glorious Playgroup Festival. Described as “three days of beautiful mayhem”, this unique festival on the 5th to 8th August promises madness, silliness, and anything else that you’d least expect from a small country festival, and well be selling tickets to the event at our Brighton store.
The only event that celebrates the individual (without all the mess), Playgroup promises some of the most exciting acts from a range of talents. You’ll find DJs mixing with burlesque acts, jewellery makers gabbing away with magicians, and bands members singing around a campfire with scientists. This eclectic festival is festooned with magic.
Here at Beyond Retro, we’re no different. Our love in life is to dress up and be silly, so Beyond Retro | Brighton will be participating in true whacky style. Following from the Woodlands Creature theme, the aim is to play around with the abundance of clothes and create your inner animal and get your costume for Playgroup. We will be delving into our treasure chest of vintage, bringing to you our dress up delights. Whether you decide to channel your inner vintage fox, or rather a glamorous retro pussycat, we have it all. The shop is your metaphorical oyster!

When we showed you our ten favourite Hawaiian shirts yesterday, we secretly held this one back to star on the Vintage Spotlight; and its not difficult to see why. This 1950s number is absolutely magnificent, subdued in colour-way to satisfy those who dont favour the more traditionally garish prints, but depicting the surfers and palm trees demanded by the classic aloha aesthetic. Hawaiian shirts usually let their prints do the talking, but the detailing here is stunning constructed from crepe weaves, horizontal buttonholes house coconut buttons and the print carries through the pocket.
Come September, Toronto shoppers will be experiencing some serious sensory overload. Many a retail diva will thank the fashion gods that be when these new shops roll into town.
